I don't know whether it indicates any kind of trend. I would say it is in the "back to basics" mold, but it does illustrate a new effort towards "universal design" and accessibility. What with FCC Section 508 and the ADA, the accessibility aspect is becoming important in many areas, though I don't know that it's reached the educational sector yet. However the "inclusive society" is on everybody's lips, including the Queen today! You can download an evaluation copy from www.wordaloud.co.uk. Note that the evaluation copy expires at the end of June, but we have a SPECIAL OFFER: US $29.95 for a personal copy, or $59.90 for a site license, for schools, if ordered before 12th July. Cheers from Chiswick, John P.S. It is the state opening of parliament today. -- In message <Pine.LNX.4.21.0106200157200.21918-100000@shagrat.silicongoblin.com> the Chief Goblin, via nifl-technology@nifl.gov writes: >Hi everyone. > >I did a presentation at the recent Technology in Adult Education: Trends >and Applications conference in CT titled "Technology Trends", in which I >looked at technology trends in the immediate, near and far future, and >considered their impact on the field of literacy. > >It was a fun presentation -- part informed prediction, part wild >speculation -- and I told everyone that I would gather my notes and write >them up with links to sources and resources, and put them online.
