OTAN (The Outreach & Technical Assistance Network) seeks Coordinator of
Technology Projects

OTAN is seeking a Technology Projects Coordinator who will plan,
coordinate, and manage activities related to OTAN contract objectives that
support the utilization of instructional technology by California adult
education providers.

Full time, ten months, September 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002.  
Continuance as a twelve-month position dependent on renewal of contract
with California Department of Education.

Employment status negotiable, either visiting educator or SCOE management
employee. 
FY 02 SCOE Management Salary Schedule, Coordinator, 10 months / 200 day
contract, salary=$79,280.

Principal work location in Sacramento, or other California, negotiable.

Duties and responsibilities may include: 
Implement process for facilitating local adult schools to develop
technology plans. Coordinate local agencies piloting a model for training
teachers to implement instructional technology, including identifying
sites, chairing team planning meetings, scheduling training and other
interventions by mentors, and assisting evaluators in data collection.
Facilitate development of videotape library of exemplary instructional
technology practice including identifying sites, conducting telephone
interviews, planning taping sessions, participating in interviews, and
editing segments.  Assist with the development of online resources and
courses.  Prepare proposals, reports, flyers, and information for Web
sites; make presentations to workshops and meetings regarding contract
accomplishments.   

Minimum qualifications:

Education, training, experience:  
Possession of at least a Bachelor's Degree in an education or technology
related field.  A Master's degree is preferred. Possession of a valid
California teaching and/or administrative services credential.  Current
experience with new and emerging technologies.  Experience teaching in and
managing adult education programs in California preferred.  

Knowledge of:
Adult learning theory, principles of organization, and project management;
technology planning; personal computer hardware; personal computer
software used for word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, presentations
and communications; computer software for instruction; video for
instruction and staff development; online instruction. 

Skill and Ability to:
Plan, coordinate and manage technical assistance and professional
development activities; set priorities and make decisions on a variety of
complex matters; organize work to meet deadlines; communicate effectively
in both oral and written forms; establish and maintain cooperative working
relationships with clients and staff.

Other:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and willingness to
travel.
