I'm Dynishal Gross and I work for the Adult Literacy Media Alliance, a
non-profit project of the Education Development Center. We make TV411, a TV
show aimed at pre-GED level adult learners. We also work with several
hundred traditional and non-traditional literacy providing agencies around
the country. While I've not come across any programs using PDAs with
learners, one of our shows does feature this activity. Because time
management is such a big issue for learners, who must find ways to
incorporate time for class and study into lives filled with parenting, work,
etc, the series revisits this topic several times. The segment with the PDA
appears in Episode 16 and features Olympia Scott Richardson, a WNBA player,
musician and mom sharing time management strategies which are not dependent
on, but are enhanced by her use of a Palm Pilot. An instructor thinking of
introducing these devices to their class might find it helpful to show this
segment to demonstrate their usefulness. I'm happy to provide samples of
this or other TV411 segments on the topic of time management. Just drop me a
