Hello Tech List:

The Technology @ Work 2001 Conference, sponsored by FEGS, IBM and the
Literacy Assistance Center (LAC), that was originally scheduled for October
3 has a new date. The conference will be held on Friday, November 30, 2001.
It will be held at the same location - 315 Hudson Street (btw. Spring &
Vandam) on the 9th floor, from 9:00 - 4:00. The original presenters and
panelists will remain on the program, including representatives from NPower
NY, IBM, Adult Literacy Media Alliance (ALMA), Per Scholas and CitySoft NY.
The Keynote panel will address the issue of technology workforce
development, paying special attention to the needs of basic education and
ESOL learners, in addition to discussing post-September 11th labor market
issues as they relate to this topic. Concurrent workshop topics will include
web activities for BE, ESOL, and job readiness; software and Web site
