Kathy,
We circulated a "loaner" laptop among faculty in our School of Education
and believe me - they don't a lickin' and just stopped tickin'. On the
other hand, there are probably two dozen computers four to five years
old sitting in the "junk yard" of the computer center. These are late
model Macs and PC with full Internet capability. I've walked the fence
on computer donations before -- but feel laptops are too fragile to be
used by a number of different people. I saw one of my own family members
bang on my keyboard playing a game and the spacc er still doesn't work
right!

Insurance is very pricey. We can't afford it.

Best,
Jeri Levesque, Ed.D.
