Glencoe/McGraw-Hill has some interactive software on CD-Rom that works with
computer concepts, Windows 98, and Office 2000. It was authored by Peter
Norton. The price is reasonable and it has a fair amount of interactivity.
It reads some of the text to the individual. It operates through a browser
window on Internet Explorer 5 which comes with the programs. There are also
text books and workbooks that accompany the curriculum. They also have a CD
that drills you on the Microsoft certification skills for Microsoft Office
2000. It also provides good practice and instruction. I think you can find
more information on their Website.

I am looking for resources, that we can use, to develop an ESL based
curriculum for an introduction to computers (Windows, Word, Excel,
PowerPoint.) Our student base is high level ESL, high school drop outs and
the unemployed.

Our department is giving teachers from 3 city schools the opportunity to
develop this curriculum. We each have our own curriculum now.

Does anyone know of a curriculum out now or one close to what we need? Are
there any vendors that have a program like this?
