We develop multimedia, computer-based training courses that teach basic computer and Internet skills to teens and adults. We have had many requests to convert our courses into Spanish (as well as other languages) and are seriously exploring what would be involved to do this. Our instruction is offered via spoken narration and the learner can also see the text of that narration printed at the bottom of the screen (like movie subtitles). Of course, both are currently available only in English. If we create a Spanish version of our courses: 1. Should the "spoken" narration be available in English, Spanish -- or both (to allow the instructor and/or learner to choose which language they want to hear)? 2. Should the "text display" of the narration be available in English, Spanish -- or both (to allow the instructor and/or learner to choose which language they want to read)? If you have any thoughts on this topic, please let me know. Many thanks! Ann Harris -- Ann E.
