I think many of us had a much deeper interaction with the web site because of your (Michael's) presence here, then if I had simply posted the URL to the list as a recommended site to visit independently. Our next special event on the list will have some similarities to our current discussion. However, instead of exploring one practitioner-created online project together, we will explore several. The event will be a panel, consisting of 4-5 adult literacy practitioners/students who received small grants last year from NELRC/World Education to design a Web-based teaching/learning project. The panel will be moderated by Jeff Carter of NELRC/World Education and will take place the week of April 15th. This "virtual panel" will be an opportunity for grantees to present their work to you (some of which is still ongoing), and, more importantly, to share with you their goals, their experience with the process of working on the project, and how the whole thing fits into the larger process of integrating technology into instruction. And of course to take your questions. We'll have a more detailed announcement about this sometime around April 1. Again, thanks to Michael and to all the subscribers for your participation in exploring "The Office". Michael will stay on the list, so the discussion can continue beyond today if you have any more questions or comments. Or, as Michael has invited us to do, you can contact him directly at: mlh@lexiconsys.com Best, --Emily ******************************************************************** Emily Hacker Moderator, NIFL Technology Director of Learning Technologies F.E.G.S (212) 366-8122 ehacker@fegs.org ******************************************************************* HOLD THE DATE: FEGS Partnerships For A Changing World Benefit Dinner APRIL 9, 2002 AT THE PIERRE HOTEL, NYC Please List Your Job Openings with FEGS at (212)366-8039 If You Are interested in Making a Donation to FEGS to Help Us Continue To Provide Essential Crisis Support Services, please contact Gail Magaliff, COO at (212)366-8551 or send an e-email to gmagaliff@fegs.org PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT www.fegs.org ************************NOTE************************************** The information contained in this email message is intended only for use of the addressee(s) named above.
