It depends what kind of research you are looking for. I'm not sure there is
any on what constitutes good "design" for low level readers. There is some
research on what low level readers are looking for in terms of content which
makes some suggestions regarding design as well. Check out "Online Content
for Low-Income and Underserved Americans: A Report by the Children's
Partnership" at www.childrenspartnership.org. Click on the report title
