Richard,

I run an Adult Lab in Florida. I have long felt that teachers need a place
to post tools that they can share with others in the field. You seem to be
working on an area where I believe there is much need: Adult Education Lab
Administration Software for teachers. I would like to talk with you further
on exchanging tools that you have found effective both in the areas of admin
and learning. I will be happy to do the same. I will also send this e-mail
to your personal address with some tools attached.

Look Forward to Speaking With You,

Nick Griffis

Jane:
I run a small Workplace Literacy Lab in NJ. All content is delivered through
the computer as we have no "Books" in the traditional sense. We incorporate
a variety of systems delivery methods from streaming video, HTML/ASP based
testing, full featured diagnostic and prescriptive educational programs that
are client/server based , and a variety of single/lab pack stand alone
programs. Additionally we allow students to employ a thin-client interface
so students can access our server from home.
I am in the process of developing other software as a learning aid. I
would welcome any help or assistance from others who are/have developed
programs such as html based login/logout programs to web based testing that
will tie into databases ,track progress and email students/instructors when
certain criteria are met. This stuff is fairly simple but I need others to
keep me focused and to bounce ideas off of. I could also use educational
content form those who have developed a lot of material and are looking to
share this to help educate adult learners. I am not interested in any
commercial products so please do not contact me in this regard.

All are welcome to contact me at any time concerning the above.

>Jane:
>Your study is very exciting and will add needed research to the adult
literacy field in this area. If you haven't already seen it, you should
certainly put the newly published monograph - "Expanding Access to Adult
Literacy with Online Distance Education" on your list. It is available on
the NCSALL site at http://ncsall.gse.harvard.edu/research/op_askov.pdf
>While your at NCSALL, you can also review many articles on technology use
in adult literacy that have appeared in Focus on Basics.
>
>Please keep us posted on your study.
