community technology by providing access to, training on, and support

underserved areas that strengthen individuals, families, neighborhoods,

Position Description
------------------------------
The Project Manager will report directly to the CTCNet management team,
and will be responsible for the successful operation of CTCNet's leadership
and community capacity building initiatives, including:

Catalyzing CTCs for Community Change
<http://www.ctcnet.org/CTCCatalyst.htm>, which bridges the fields of
community technology and community development by providing planning
grants and technical assistance to innovative efforts that redefine CTCs as
community stabilizing institutions and public spaces.

Youth Visions for Stronger Neighborhoods
<http://www.ctcnet.org/youthvisions>, which supports community-based
organizations working to increase youth (ages 12-16) awareness of civic
decision-making structures and improve their community problem-solving
abilities through the use of multimedia technology, in order to enhance
the perception of young people as vital assets to long-term neighborhood
health and success.

Major Responsibilities

-- Project design and planning activities
-- Coordination of assessment and evaluation activities with consultant
and technical assistance teams
-- Logistics and communications tasks for team meetings and site visits
-- Research, analysis, and dissemination of model practices from project
sites

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 (depending on experience) with comprehensive
benefits.

Qualifications
-----------------------
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, at least three years work
experience in program management, and demonstrated interest in issues
relating to community technology, community development, social work,
youth empowerment, community organizing, civic education, and/or related
fields.  Working knowledge of nonprofit capacity issues and social
applications of technology is strongly desired.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently, have a
"pitch in" attitude, and have excellent organizational, written and verbal
skills, along with a demonstrated interested in policy and civic engagement
processes across a diverse range of issues and stakeholders.

Candidates must be willing to travel up to 25% time, and be comfortable
independently conducting site visits to grantee centers and
organizations.
