Good day all,
Please see Barb Garner's message below to participate in on the editorial
board for the Change Agent issue on Building Peace at Home, in the
Community and in the World. I will also be forwarding her request for
writers for this issue.
Some of you may be interested in or working on the role technology plays in
building peace or resolving conflict. Please think about if this is a
possible article topic and get in touch with contact in the below message.

On source of inspiration on this topic could be the work of Ibdaa, a
Palestinian grassroots cultural center initiative of Dheisheh Refugee Camp.
The cultural center offers the very isolated Palestinian population of the
camp access to the world outside of its walls. This quote about Ibdaa is
from Wired news from 2003..."Cooped up in their communities for most of the
past three years of fighting, Palestinians have found a way to escape:
going online.
Internet use has risen sharply, putting the Palestinians ahead of much of
the Arab world. Business people use the Web to place orders with suppliers,
university students keep up with lessons and relatives separated by Israeli
closures stay in touch through chat rooms."

Aside from access, Ibdaa also has educational porojects that integrate
technology such as the creation of a downloadable audio report on the
"Apartheid Wall" and information on the technology training programs they
offer to their constituents.
The website is: http://www.dheisheh-ibdaa.net/home.htm

Please share any resources you may have that link technology, peace and
conflict resolution.

Best regards,
Mariann
