Hello All,

I hope your July fourth holiday was a good one.
Following are a couple of resources that may be of interest to you.

We have had a couple of short discussions in the past few months about
media literacy and how to choose relaible internet based resources.
Following is a webquest that explores that issue in depth and may be
appropriate for many adult learning settings.

http://www.altn.org/webquests/websites/

I just had the chance to review a new TV411 production from the Adult
Literacy Media Alliance (ALMA). the TV411 Think Math DVD. The DVD includes
8 video segments that have math lessons contextualized around everyday
situations. The videos themselves were very engaging and include links to
lesson plans ans other on-line math resources found on the TV411 web site
www.tv411.org . The Think Math DVDs are available for free to programs
participating in their outreach initiative. To participate get in touch
with Shelley Ruchti at ALMA: sruchti@edc.org or 212-807-4244.

Best regards,
Mariann
