I have been asked to pass this along:

Seeking submissions...............
I am contacting you to tell you about a book that I have been contracted to put together. The project will deal with the healing process of letter writing. The premise is that strong emotions such as fear, anger, sadness, uncertainty, grief, and regret can be diminished by writing letters to one's self, to the emotion, to another person, or to an event. By writing letters that are not meant to be sent, we are able to express ourselves without censor and are able, therefore, to be honest with what we are feeling, thinking, and writing. We are able to meet the emotion head on, to rename and reform our beliefs about the emotion, and to wipe away old definitions or ineffective demands upon ourselves that no longer suit.
So.........here's where you come in...........I am looking for letters to include in the book--gripping letters that deal honestly with all sorts of emotional roadblocks. Submissions should be no more than 800 words in length. They can be anonymous. Below is a list of chapters for which I still need sample letters.
Chapter 6.. Reaching out for the help you need
(Asking for help when you need it is difficult. I am looking for a letter for this chapter that is written, perhaps, to one's self, seeking permission to seek help, discussing the human aspect of not going it alone. OR, a letter to the person to whom you would like to turn for help, working through the difficulty of actually confessing that you need their assistance, asking for understanding, etc.)
Chapter 7. Clearing up monster misunderstandings
Chapter 8. Granting forgiveness and asking for it, too
Chapter 9. Dissecting fear to gain control of the goblins
Chapter 10. Examining your pain and movingforward
Chapter 11. Sending a letter as a further step in the healing process
I may also add a chapter on loneliness, perhaps one on depression.

If you are interested in submitting work, you may do so by sending your letter (or letters) in the body of an email (no attachments, please). Please do not hesitate to email me if you have questions or concerns. I sincerely hope that I hear from writers in your group and I promise to respond in a hasty fashion to your submission.
Those whose work is included in the book will, of course, be recognized and will recieve one free copy of the book. Deadline for submissions is March 1.
