Conference jointly organized by several international agencies including UNESCO UIE and Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences. Proposals are due March 9, 2001. The goals of the conference are to 1) identify the current status and development trends in lifelong learning, 2) analyze the challenges and opportunities for lifelong learning in the context of globalization, 3) examine innovative approaches in adult literacy, workforce preparation, education and online learning, 4) review the agenda for the Future of the UNESCO Conference (CONFINTEA V) and its implications for concrete action in lifelong learning and education and 5) foster collaborative learning and partnership among students, researchers, teachers and other practitioners from different regions of the world. Conference registration fee is $125 (students, $85.) Specially arranged one-week travel packages available for US $1485 and a 13-day package for $2285. Packages include international flights from major airports in Canada and US, accommodations in first class hotels, most meals and sightseeing. Early reservation of seats recommended to ensure seats at the discounted rates. Your one-page proposal should include your name, mailing address, email address, title, description and preferred format (panel, poster session or workshop.)
