Dear Friends,

I just heard on the radio about another case of anthrax poisoning in New York
and felt one of those little surges of adrenaline that I expect (but I am not
sure) others have also. Then I thought about living with terror for many
years, which I had to, and that this time I am not alone. Which makes me
think that is one of the "gifts" teachers can give students who still live in
terrifying personal circumstances--somehow linking them with other students
who have lived or who are still living in terrifying circumstances.

There were only a few people who believed me or who had any comprehension of
what I was saying, and NONE of them were family members. I had one friend
who kept talking "forgiveness," until something happened to one of her
children, and she then understood in a horrible way a new reality. There is
evil out there.

I hope I am not being narcissistic about this, but it is easier to be with
other people than alone.

Andrea
