Beginning today, Monday, March 31st, guest speakers from FOB will be joining the NFIL-AAPLD listserv for a two week virtual panel discussion regarding the
role of class, race, culture, and gender and their intersection in the
specific context of adult literacy professional development. This is a
wonderful opportunity to engage these authors while jointly reflecting upon
our own staff development practices.
Here are samples of the authors' work:
Deborah D'Amico, "Race, Class, Gender, and Sexual Orientation in ABE"
http://ncsall.gse.harvard.edu/fob/2003/damico.html

Cassandra Drennon, "Naming the Power Dynamics in Staff Development"
http://ncsall.gse.harvard.edu/fob/2003/drennon.html

Margery Freeman and Lou Johnson, "Yes! A Literacy Program's Antiracist
Journey"
http://ncsall.gse.harvard.edu/fob/2003/freeman.html

Kay Tee Niquette, "Idealism and Realism in the Formation of a Culturally
Sensitive Classroom"
http://ncsall.gse.harvard.edu/fob/2003/niquette.html

Rick Kappra's and Maria Rosales Uribe, "Personal Journeys of Transformation"
