If this IS in fact a legitimate concern, why couldn't the powers that be at NIFL put out a general announcement to ALL the elists stating what they were doing, what words might be considered problematic and why? why all this cloak and dagger and sneaky underhanded maneuvering? why the targeting of some lists and not others? Also, I've seen the list of words and wonder why some of them are on the list! we're serious adult professionals who can handle direct information! IF this is REALLY the concern of the NIFL leadership - then just put it out there to all the list members of all the lists asking them to bear with them until they legally sort it out. otherwise, it looks like censorship and it's own form of political advocacy and targeting against ideas not supportive of the current regime! fyi I posted 2 messages yesterday - neither was posted. one had the magic words and the other did not! I am retrying the second of the message using Andres' code spellings...... Also I forgot to say... and why should we be surprised. In spite of constitutional guarantees of "freedom of speech", "right to assemble" and "freedom of the press" - we live in a world dominated by a corporate media supported by questionable FCC and monopoly regulations and laws. we have been so manipulated to fear terrorism that we've not been able to think critically, or to understand or explore our emotions very deeply beyond surface sound bites. this is an government funded list! With the advent of the Patriot Act and the erosion of many constitutional rights, and the assault on education, adult basic education in particular, I find this turn of events on the NIFL elists not so surprising -- though they do anger me. "ior aktion kan make difference." don't simply give into frustration. I "urrgge" you to keep speaking with your congressional leaders and state representatives to not let a stolen election and the serious cover ups continue to erode the so-called democracy we "enjoy" in this country as our nation - through acts of "uar" and aggression - seeks to inflict this distorted view of democracy on other nations!
