The Pine Grove Correctional Institute in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan has
various literacy programs for the women inmates. Most recently they have
developed a family literacy program called Keys to Literacy. Besides family
literacy and parenting the program helps participants develop writing and
computer skills and has a component focusing on the oral tradition. More
info about the program including contact info can be found at
http://www.nald.ca/whatnew/hnews/2001/pine/brochure.htm. Or I would be
happy to put your colleague in touch with the coordinators.
