Dear List Subscribers,
The new Program Leadership and Improvement List will be relaunched Tuesday, March 2nd. Shortly after it launched in January, the National Institute for Literacy and the Department of Adult Education and Literacy at the US Department of Education began conversations about changing this list to a fully moderated discussion list. Because this involved some changes in technology, the decision was made to inactivate the list until the technological issues could be resolved. The list was inactive for approximately a month and will be relaunched Tuesday, March 2nd in its new format.

Please note that this list is formally moderated. This means that as the list moderator, I will review each of the postings in advance to determine their appropriateness in meeting the purposes for which the list was established. Approval guidelines have been posted at http://www.nifl.gov/lincs/discussions/nifl-pli/guidelines_pli.html and, if you are interested in subscribing to the list, I encourage you to take the time to review them.
You can subscribe to the list at http://www.nifl.gov/mailman/listinfo/nifl-pli. There are several great "guest posters" lined up over the next few months, Including:

March 2004: Cheryl Keenan, Director of the US Department of Education's Division of Adult Education and Literacy A Vision for Adult Education Program Leadership and Improvement

April 2004: Larry Condelli, Managing Director, American Institutes for Research
The NRS as a Tool for Program Improvement

May 2004: Alisa Belzer, Assistant Professor, Rutgers University
Program Improvement in Adult Basic and Literacy Education

June 2004: Marty Finsterbusch, Executive Director of VALUE The Role of the Adult Learner in Program Leadership and Improvement
July 2004: Susan Finn Miller, Professional Development Specialist, Lancaster Lebanon IU 13
Practitioners as Co-learners: Program Improvement through Collaborative Learning

I hope you will consider joining the discussion.
