I have been getting a bunch of messages about "literacy president", which I have deleted. W/o knowing what you guys are taliing about, I ask: Would a discussion about "literate president" be more appropriate?

I would like to STRONGLY encourage everyone to take advantage of some of
the activities surrounding literacy instruction and the upcoming
elections. A resource which I found helpful is found at:
http://www.nelrc.org/changeagent/
You will find a special Change Agent newsletter on voting and adult
literacy. What is exciting is that you can either download the issue or
send away for FREE copies of this sepcial issue. There is a special
section with suggestions for teachers on how to craft activities and use
specific tools with students in order to get the most out of the
articles.

Dear NIFL-Womenlit Colleague,

As a promised follow-up to our May 14th message, those who may be
interested in the Literacy President survey or teaching materials can
subscribe to the AAACE National Literacy Advocacy (AAACE-NLA) list by
going to:

	http://lists.literacytent.org/mailman/listinfo/aaace-nla

Those who do not wish to subscribe to that list, but would like
information about the Literacy President initiative, may go to the
AAACE-NLA list archives at:

	http://lists.literacytent.org/pipermail/aaace-nla/2004/date.html

and scroll to the bottom of the page.
