She didn't feel comfortable emailing the listserv, so I am posting her question on her behalf. She also did not want me to quote her verbatim-although I assured her that her writing was fine and understandable, she did not feel comfortable seeing her words posted. This is her story. She is married to a man in the navy, has 3 children and would like a divorce. He is much older than her and has many years of graduate education, and she is scared that he is going to take advantage of her age and lack of a high school diploma to rob her of everything that belongs to her. It was suggested to her that she get a military lawyer, however none of the military lawyers that she contacted are willing to get involved (he is an officer). She would like to find a good lawyer. She lives in the Maryland area and none of her friends know of good lawyers. She is too embarrassed to ask her GED teacher for help. She told me that money is not too much of an issue, she will be able to borrow money from her sister who does not currently live in the US. Any ideas on how she can find a lawyer?
