Reading Coach (Adult Education): Responsibilities include providing coaching, guidance, and support in scientifically based reading instruction to adult education instructors participating in a pilot project; observing and documenting classroom reading instruction; modeling instructional strategies; administering individual reading component assessments to adult learners in the project classrooms; collecting data on the implementation of reading instruction; and working with project staff to translate the data into information about the progress and outcomes of the project. The position is located in Louisville, Kentucky and involves travel within Kentucky. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of scientifically based reading instruction, experience with and understanding of the Adult Basic Education instructional setting, excellent writing skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with members of a team. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a background in reading instruction or related area and at least 5 years teaching experience, including reading instruction-preferably in an adult learning setting; Master's degree with reading coursework or specialist certification preferred.
