AMES is an extraoridnarily enlightened employer that has gone to great efforts to include everyone they could in workplace ESOL classes (operated in a partnership with SCALE). Colleen could answer from the employers' perspective how she sees recruitment. Overall, though, the concept is to improve the skills of the workers, on their current jobs, in their lives outside work, in preparation for job upgrades, and even if it means they move up (and out of manufacturing) to another workplace. Ciao, bjs
