I am the Workplace Literacy Coordinator under the umbrella of Adult Ed. We
offer classes in ABE, GED preparation, ESL, and specialized needs (such as
business writing). We charge per instructor hour at a rate of $40 per hour.
Other counties in the metro Atlanta area charge from $27.50 up to $40 per
hour. If a class is meeting twice a week for 2 hours pre session, we may add
one hour of teacher prep time. We also charge the same rate for assessment
(testing & on-site observation & interviewing). Businesses are charged for
materials. We have offered Spanish classes for managers at a rate of $50.
That subject now comes out of Continuing Ed. This department (Continuing Ed)
covers most of the other areas you mentioned. Their fees are higher, but as
they vary, I can't give you exact figures.

Another said: My organization has done fee-for-service of
both ESL (quite minimally) and adult basic literacy. I have done
workshops on the "how-to's" for groups wanting to get started. I have
attached a workshop outline in rich text for the person asking for
information. ** Note I have saved the attachment if you want it, please
email me and I will send it on to you.

Another said: In working with Dislocated Workers, the local voc/tech school
charges a flat fee of $75.00 per hour for ABE. This is a subsidized fee
because the school is a partner in the program for Dislocated Workers and
profits from the many people who move on into training at the school at full
costs. The cost covers prep time as well as face-to-face time. At other
Workplace Ed sites the cost is slightly higher at $85.00 per hour.

Another said: My organization charges between $50 and $75 an instructional
hour,
depending upon the content. We also charge for curriculum development in
order to make it job-specific.
