A review of the TABE, ABLE and six other tests in presented in a report on assessment and testing by Tom Stitch at http://www.nald.ca/fulltext/sticht/testing/cover.htm There was also a document written by Kathryn Baker called "Comparing Work Skills Analysis Tools" published in March 1998. This document looks at: Advance Skill Command, PBAS, SSMS, Skill View Power Builder, Work Keys, Essential Skills Profile, CASAS, and WSS. If you use CASAS or Work Keys a document was written called "Extending the Ladder: From CASAS to Work Keys Assessments. This document was written by The American College Testing Program. (1997) Maurice Taylor also published a document called Test Review: Workplace Assessment Tools in April 1997. It is available at http://www.nald.ca/nls/inpub/test/English/cover.htm. This document features: TABE, TALS, BEST, CAAT, MRA, WRAT, MSA. He wrote another one also called "Workplace Literacy Assessment Tools" it is located at: http://www.nald.ca/fulltext/report4/rep36-40/rep36-01.htm If you are not into Standardized tests, Gail Dyer wrote a good publication called "Alternative Assessment Methodologies for Workplace Education Programs. (1993) Pennsylvania ABLE sponsored a document called Testing and Assessment in the Commonwealth of PA written in June 1991 by David Fluke. This examined TALS, CASAS, ABLE, SORT, TABE, Woodcock and Johnson, WRAT, Series Tests, AL Employment Related Tasks, and others.
