I am Barbara Gibson, associate director of the Workforce Improvement
Network in Virginia. I have just gotten back from our Summer Institute and
have read the request for information about workforce educator
credentialing and staff development as well as several replies that cited
the Workforce Improvement Network. I would be happy to communicate with
anyone who needs more details about what we are doing in Virginia. My
phone number is (540) 225-8777 in case you would rather call than email.
Our web address is http://cep.jmu.edu. Through our Workforce Information
Campus, online, facilitated workforce educator training will be available
on a fee-for-service basis. Seven courses that include a basic
introduction to workplace education, marketing and contracting,
instruction, and curriculum design are currently being developed.
