Hi Workplace discussion list members,

What's in a name? The team of people responsible for the NIFL Workforce
Education Special Collection
<http://slincs.coe.utk.edu/special_collections/workforce_education/> are
considering several changes in the site to make the site more appealing to
workplace educators. Feedback from our advisory group of workforce
education specialists suggests that the names on the audience buttons in
the left navigation bar under "Literacy Resources" does not draw in human
resource professionals and others involved in workplace education in
business and industry. We are proposing to change the names of those
buttons to make this wider audience feel included, and would like your
feedback to our choices for new button titles.

The button now called "Student/Learner" would be renamed
"Trainee/Learner".

The button now called "Teacher/Tutor" would be renamed "HR
Trainer/Teacher".

The button now called "Manager/Administrator" would be renamed
"Employer/Supervisor".

We welcome response to these proposed changes. We want the new names to
be more inclusive of the audiences for whom we are trying to make the site
useful. Please take a critical look at the site at
http://slincs.coe.utk.edu/special_collections/workforce_education/
Do these newer suggestions resonate with you? Do you have even
better suggestions for these button names? Please let us know! And
thanks!
