For a general quote about the benefits, I use the following.  Can't remember 
where I found it, because I didn't get it from the original source, and 
haven't  checked the reference, but it sounds credible!  Look forward to 
hearing from others on this topic!

"A 10% increase in the average education of all workers within an 
establishment, or about one year of schooling, yields an average 8.6% gain in 
productivity.   The gain is even greater for non-manufacturing establishments 
where every additional year of schooling adds 11% to company productivity.  
Investing in people, the study found, improves productivity more than 
increasing the number of hours employees work or investing in new equipment
