The California Department of Education (CDE) kept the competition for those funds on hold. Then CDE negotiated a budget supporting staff to manage new grants funded by the hefty EL/Civics increase. Joining in were interested others including state directors of states where demonstration projects operate, education groups, and OVAE staff. Proceedings were documented and will be shared. Direct grants from OVAE no longer are available. The 12 programs now are expected to apply for English literacy/civics funds their state education agencies receive as part of the adult education state grant program. In NC ¿Usted Habla Molly Maid?
