Judy,  Do you mean that there is no longer any way to access the 
holdings of these Clearinghouses?  And that there will be no further 
development of the collections around the themes that have been so 
long established and so admired across this land and others.   If 
some consolidated entity is to be continued, is it the 
administration's plan to block or eliminate certain kinds of 
material?  If any one of these things is true, this would an 
gigantic, staggering setback for education and for America's freedom 
of thought, information, and knowledge.   Gail
