It will mirror the existing Observatory of basic skills at www.basic-skills-observatory.co.uk which houses information on policy, practice and research on literacy, numeracy and language from early years to post-16 across the UK. The spotlight on Wales observatory will focus on occupational sectors. The sectors under the magnifying glass are: Land-based Manufacturing Construction Engineering Energy and Waste Hospitality, leisure and tourism Distribution, transport and communications Public administration, health and personal social care Cleaning Retail If you are currently involved in any provision, research or policy of basic skill in the workplace in any of these sectors or can offer any kind of information and contacts then please contact: Justine Grew Content Researcher/Editor The Basic Skills Agency PO Box 133 BANGOR LL33 0WT Tel: 01248 680792 (direct line) Tel: 07769906348 (mobile) Fax: 01248 681585 Email: justineg@basic-skills.co.uk _____________________________________________________________________ This message has been checked for all known viruses by Star Internet delivered through the MessageLabs Virus Scanning Service.
