ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

These additional requirements pertain to each vacancy of the National Institute for Literacy.

Conditions of Employment:

These positions of the National Institute for Literacy have a Public Trust Level of Moderate to High Risk and appointment is subject to investigation and favorable adjudication.

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

All Federal employees are required by PL 104-134 to have federal payments made by Direct Deposit.

If selected, you will be required to complete Standard Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, to determine if a conflict or an appearance of a conflict exists between your financial interest and your prospective position with the Institute.

Applicants selected for Federal employment will be required to complete a "Declaration of Federal Employment" (OF-306) prior to being appointed to determine their suitability for Federal employment. Failure to answer all questions truthfully and completely or providing false statements on the application may be grounds for not hiring the applicant, for dismissing the applicant after they begin work, and may be punishable by fine or imprisonment (U.S. Code, Title 18, Section 1001).

This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act, as amended.

The National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) will not pay travel, transportation, and relocation expenses. Any travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for interview and/or duty in this position will be the responsibility of the selectee.
