[Diversity 1130] Sexual harassment, attire, and power

Greetings Katherine and all,

I have little doubt that women are subjected to far more sexual harassment than men, although the discussion, as I understand it, is about attire and levels of formality between teachers and students.

That said, I do wonder what the proportions of male vs. female sexual harassment are in a corporate setting in which women hold positions of power and men report to them.  A few incidences of female teachers harassing their male students have made the news.

On another note - and this is actually more the purview of psychology than literacy, perhaps - might there be any differences in the emotional impact of men being harassed sexually vs. women?

When I think in terms of sexual harassment, I think mostly of women being harassed.  Sorry to say, this is a statistical reality, no matter what the woman is wearing.
