Hello,

A title that may be of assistance to you: While They're at War: The
True Story of American Families on the Homefront by Kristin Henderson.

Published by Houghton Mifflin Company in 2006. "A vivid picture of

the families behind America's armed forces." All Things Considered,
National Public Radio.

The author is a journalist who writes on military issues, including
reporting from Iraq. Her husband is a Navy chaplain serving with the
Marines and she is active in the Marine Corps' Key Volunteer family
readiness program. Checkout the NPR story at:

or go to her website at:

My son-in-law is a Special Forces Ranger veteran and a recent graduate
of law school. When I told him about the discussion of this issue, he
became excited since he knows first hand of the challenges of families
of veterans, veterans, and war refugees. He asked that I send thanks to
the list and all of you who are dedicated to assisting veterans in your
classrooms.

Susan
