O got this from a Women's Studies listserv. I'm not sure how user
friendly this will be for our adult learners -- but probably worth
looking at -- perhaps teachers can distill information for history,
economics, and politics....

> The International Museum of Women has just launched a multimedia
> online exhibition called Economica: Women and the Global Economy.
> You can view it at: economica.imow.org. The core of the exhibition
> consists of three parts:
>
> 1. a series of 5-min photo slideshows showing how women are coping
> with and resisting the impacts of globalization and the economic
> crisis in different parts of the world
>
> 2. companion essays that unpack some of the concepts shown in the
> photo slideshows and discuss policy implications and alternatives
>
> 3. a series of podcasts and text interviews with feminist economists
> and feminist policymakers critiquing current paradigms and offering
> alternatives
>
> There is also an overarching essay aka curator's statement that
> outlines the approach and includes a critique of the "investment-
> only" model that has gained visibility through Kristof and WuDunn's
> latest book as well as The Girl Effect video and other sources.
> You can read this at: http://www.imow.org/economica/stories/viewStory?storyid=3628
> and it will soon be available in Spanish, too.
>
> The exhibition is designed for a non-expert audience, using engaging
> multimedia formats, and thus might be very compelling to students as
> a way to "bring to life" theory, numbers, statistics, graphs, etc.
>
> I am the curator of the exhibition and would be happy to answer
> questions and/or brainstorm about ways to use it in the classroom.
