Research Analyst - Adult Basic Education and Literacy
American Institutes for Research is a leading research organization
specializing in education, educational assessment, and other social
policy issues. Our Adult Education program is currently looking for a
Research Analyst who will initially be working with two program that
focus on ESL instruction.
This exciting position's activities will include review of adult ESOL
curriculum and instructional materials, analysis, and development of
reports; development and implementation of training and technical
assistance; and design, development, and evaluation of informational
products. Additional responsibilities include writing or contributing
to competitive proposals for applied social science research. Periodic
travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in the areas
of adult basic and literacy education, especially adult ESOL, an
understanding of the adult education delivery system, and knowledge of
adult education policies and procedures. Expertise in adult mathematics
and numeracy is also a plus. A Ph.D. in education or social sciences is
strongly preferred, together with experience in research, writing,
training, and good interpersonal communication skills.
