Hello everyone!

Could anyone give an idea of the kind of adult English
teaching jobs most commonly available in the East Bay
and Berkeley areas?

My colleague, Jeff Davis, is moving to the East Bay in
August 2006 because his wife is getting a Ph.D. there.
Jeff currently teaches new adult Hmong refugees
general ESOL and Functional Work English at our
community-based non-profit collaborating with
Minnesota and our local county. He has a Master's in
Social Work.

What qualifications does he need to work in most adult
ed settings in California? Are FWE teachers for
community-based organizations or community college
academic ESOL teachers or customized workplace
education teachers most in demand?

Please advise Jeff offlist at jeffhmong at yahoo.com.

If anyone would like information about Minnesota adult
ESOL teaching situations, contact me or Jeff and we
will be happy to tell you what we know.

Thank you so much in advance,

Eric Bestrom
