[EnglishLanguage 709] Re: materials for Eng Creole-spkrs/goingratefor in...Marian Cazabon mcazabon at hotmail.comTue Sep 26 17:52:42 EDT 2006
Just wanted to point out that as far as I am aware most linguists see a difference between a Creole and a dialect. This website explains it quite nicely: http://www.une.edu.au/langnet/defintions.htm#creole simple definitions re language, Pidgin, Creole, dialect, etc. It would appear to be a bit controversial as to where Ebonics fits in. I'm going to have to bow out of this discussion for now; much as it is entertaining, I need to focus my time on followin gsome of the leads that have been suggested here! Should anyone have any response as to the 2nd part of my initial query (re what to charge) could you please email me offline? Much appreciated!
