Just wanted to point out that as far as I am aware most linguists see a 
difference between a Creole and a dialect. This website explains it quite 
nicely:

language, Pidgin, Creole, dialect, etc. It would appear to be a bit 
controversial as to where Ebonics fits in.
I'm going to have to bow out of this discussion for now; much as it is 
entertaining, I need to focus my time on followin gsome of the leads that 
have been suggested here!
Should anyone have any response as to the 2nd part of my initial query (re
