CALL for PAPERS Low Educated Second Language and Literacy Acquisition LESLLA Newcastle upon Tyne, England September 13, 14, and 15, 2007 The third annual LESLLA Forum will be held at Newcastle University, UK, as part of the 17th European Second Language Association Conference (EuroSLA) On the final day of the EuroSLA conference taking place from 11-14 September, a special colloquium will focus on research on Interfaces in Low Educated Second Language and Literacy Acquisition. This colloquium consists of 30-minute papers on research in second language acquisition and/or second language literacy development by low-educated adults, on the interaction of language and literacy with each other and/or with additional factors. On Saturday, September 15, a day-long event entitled International perspectives on LESLLA practice and policy involves panels of classroom researchers and professionals involved in issues regarding low-educated adults? L2 acquisition/literacy development. Each panel will have an hour to focus on a country or region. >From Thursday to Saturday there will also be poster/demonstration sessions.
