Accent reduction is interesting to me because Englsih text can be converted to English-like phonetic spelling via the free truespel.com converter. If one can master handling pronunciation of the 40 sounds (and most of these sounds are in their own native language), they should be able to read the phonetic transcript in perfect English (the same accent as from talking dictionaries). It could be that the accent problem is partly English spelling or the interpretation of how English spelling is said. To beat that, show the reader/speaker phonetic text beside traditional text and describe to them which phonemes are not said correctly. Then when a word is spoken correctly the next step is to remember it. A help in remembering is to always have access to the phonetic text via the internet when needed.
