There are several interrelated and engaging conversations going on and many people are subscribing to the list, probably in anticipation of next week's focused discussion on reading and adult English language learners.  
 
I am jumping in here to remind posters to please make sure the subject lines of their posts reflect the topics they are writing about.  This is particularly important for the archives--subject lines that only note the digested version of this list or which don't reflect the actual content of emails make it more difficult to search the archives effectively.
