Hello Lynda and all I look forward to "seeing" many of you on-line next week for the L2 Reading Discussion but had a question about subject lines also. If a question is in response to a topic but the response moves in a new direction (subtopic), when should the topic line switch? In other words, I can imagine us having a discussion under the heading of functional reading and as part of a response someone (ok, me) might introduce the idea of assessing functional literacy which would introduce a subtopic (assessment). It makes sense to me to have the subject line then read "functional literacy-assessment" so the posts would pop up for both topics if someone searches the archives. Does that work for you (i.e., the system)? I am jumping in here to remind posters to please make sure the subject lines of their posts reflect the topics they are writing about. This is particularly important for the archives--subject lines that only note the digested version of this list or which don't reflect the actual content of emails make it more difficult to search the archives effectively.
