We also have developed a comprehensive curriculum in Florida for each of our courses: Literacy (3 levels) "Core" ESOL (6 levels) Academic ESOL (1 level), English Literacy for Career and Technical Education (3 levels), Citizenship (1 level) and Workforce Development ESOL (1 level). These have been periodically examined and streamlined and are the basis of our Adult programs instruction. Most publishers have correlated their series to our content standards.They are also aligned to the NRS.  I believe that our standards are exceptional and very focused. Please access more information in www.floridaadultesol.org There is no need of reinventing the wheel if you find them appropriate for your student population!

    I'm wondering if anybody out there has recently gone through the process of designing or formalizing a leveled curriculum for their program (instead of just using a textbook as a curriculum)?  Would love to hear about your experiences - how you did it, what your process was, or just what you learned or found challenging? A program around here is thinking about doing just that, so I thought it would be good to hear what the field has to say about it - thanks in advance!
