One consideration is to find a way to allow inmates to access educational internet sites. I think internet access is usually not allowed in prisons, at least that is the case in Canada.<br><blockquote style="margin: 1.5em 0pt;">

Hi, That's a good idea ..however in our state..the inmates can serve up to one year or two concurrently in jails and we also have unsentenced and our jails are also holding them until they are deported .....time varies of course. So our classes have to be open ended...we use Best Plus because NRS accepts that assessment ... Bobbi<br>

I am in Educational Services for Henrico County, VA jails and we plan to<br>

ESL classes soon. I would like to know if anyone out there has experience<br>
with the following:<br>

-Is there a particular text/workbook that works best in a jail setting?<br>
<br>
-Does your program report gains/goals to the NRS? What is the best way to<br>
realize increased educational functioning levels in a jail ESL class?<br>
