Hi Beth,
There is an activity calendar on this website:
http://www.famlit.org/Resources/NFLD.cfm It is in both English and Spanish
and has daily activities that a parent can do with their child to promote
family literacy. We made copies and distributed the calendar at literacy
programs during November to celebrate National Family Literacy Month but it
can be used year-round.
FYI,
Susan

Subject: [FamilyLiteracy] Family Literacy Bags

We are currently providing Family Literacy Bags for every preschooler in
our public school system. We have a very small Latino population. I would
like very much to supply bilingual bags for this population, but have
limited resources. I would like ideas for bags for Spanish speaking families
and any input from anyone who has created Family Literacy Bags or is in an
area where they are used.
We are considering opening up funding to K through 3rd grade teachers
in the public school system as well as the public library and child care
centers for creating their own Family Literacy Bags. I was wondering if
anyone has experience in using a grant process for funding the creation of
Family Literacy Bags. Please share!
THANK YOU!

Peace,
