Gina,

Some great suggestions from others and I'm not sure I can add a lot here,
however one thought continues to come to mind for me. In the past I've
worked with families whose children were removed from the home and living
with foster families. I provided "PACT Time-like" experiences for parent and
child within supervised visits. I think it's important to remember that this
father and child have not seen each other for quite a long time, so they are
going to need some time up front just to be together again. They may not
want to immediately jump into planned activities (although I do believe a
plan is needed for the visit) and just want to cuddle and talk and share.
Sometimes, this can feel a bit awkward, and even emotional, for the
facilitator, the parent and child, and others--all depends on the
relationship, circumstances of the separation, etc...

Just something you might want to be prepared for and keep in mind.

Kim
