The Hallmark Channel has scheduled the premiere television presentation of the Academy Award winning movie, “March of the Penguins” for November 25, 2006. A press release from the Hallmark Channel and the National Center for Family Literacy states in part: National Family Literacy Teacher of the Year to receive Hallmark Channel honor WASHINGTON, D.C. – “March of the Penguins” teaches that families can succeed even during the harshest journeys — so does Washington, D.C., educator Mark Faloni. That’s why Hallmark Channel, which will present the U.S. television premiere of the 2006 Academy Award-winning movie, “March of the Penguins,” announced today that it is honoring Faloni for his work in family literacy. It is the second time this year that Faloni is receiving national attention for his 15 years of work at Bancroft Elementary School. Earlier this year, Toyota named Faloni the Toyota Family Literacy Teacher of the Year, a national honor announced at the National Center for Family Literacy’s annual conference. “The movie is a remarkable true story about families, and how — by working together — they can survive and thrive,” said Pam Slay, Vice President, Network Program Publicity, Hallmark Channels. “Through his work with immigrant families, Mark is helping our newest citizens realize that same goal.” For more information, please visit www.famlit.org Gail J.
