[FamilyLiteracy 719] financial curriculum

In light of the current financial literacy discussion that is taking
place, I thought that some subscribers may be interested in information
that I just shared with subscribers on the Poverty, Race, Women, and
Literacy list:

Today there is an article on Women’s Enews, about financial literacy and
domestic violence. Apparently, the National Network to End Domestic
Violence Fund and the domestic violence program of the Allstate
Foundation in Northbrook, Ill., created in 2005 a "financial
empowerment" curriculum.There are 5 workbooks that cover topics such as
how to make budgets, open bank accounts, establish credit and qualify
