What a neat idea. Perhaps someone at a local community college or even high school could help, if needed after you get advice and information.

As for your question about a webmaster, that sounds like a good position to share with one instructor and at least one student as they become proficient.

Please share the site when it's up.

Hi everyone,

I'm interested to know if anyone has had experience with starting a Family Literacy -or other -student run web page. Our program serves adult immigrants and their families, providing ESOL, Computer and other enrichment activities. Our parent organization would prefer we didn't occupy a page of its website - so that leaves us with some questions:

- What is a good host for a FLP web page? Are some better than others?
- Who should be the "webmaster" - should it always be a staff member?
- What are first steps to maintaining student involvement from day one?

If anyone has any experience or just suggestions I'd be most appreciative!

Creative colleagues,

Summer's winding down. It's a good time for reflection and writing.
Please think about your most creative projects, and write about (one
or more) on the Adult Literacy Education Wiki. There are several
there already, at

http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php/Creativity_and_Innovation Take a look, and then add your own. Register or log in from Login at the upper right of any ALE Wiki page. Then for help editing, go to http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php/Directions Consider adding to the lists of what stimulates creativity and what discourages it, and what stimulates innovation. It's a snap to add to a wiki page, but if you need help, email me. David J.
